This small figure is ancient – stone-carved and a glossy old patina. It is obviously a much-loved object from long ago. It would have been worn around the neck as a protective ancestral figure. Sometomes thay may have been carried in small bags or, in ceremony, even tied onto a bag that was carried in ceremony.
