A-12 THREE ABORIGINAL CHURRINGAS

a) Finely carved on both sides with delicate interlocking designs. Collected c. 1910 from the Kimberly region of Westerh Australia, and certainly 19th Century.

b) Finely carved is geometric square designs on both sides. It is early 20th Century (or older), and collected by Ray Willams in the Central Desert area 600km south odf Darwin. He later traded it with William Dunmall for convict paraphanalia. Dunmall coll number 027.

c) Bullroarer, Mornington Island, NT, Australia. William Dunmall collection, number 040. Dispalyed at Urimbirra Museum until 1980. Dunmall acquired this from PercyTrezise in Cairns, a pilot who flew regularly into Mornington Island. Red and white ochre stripes and an overall patina suggesting it is quite old.
